The town of Bansko is situated at the north-eastern foothills of Pirin Mountain beneath its highest and the most lovely karst part.Bansko is the entrance to the most beautiful Bulgarian mountains – Pirin and is one of the biggest ski-resorts in Bulgaria. If you add to this its architectural and historical value, Bansko becomes a pearl in the Bulgarian necklace of attractive places. As one of the biggest Bulgarian winter and ski-resorts, Bansko practically offers unlimited opportunities, thus satisfying visitors of all kinds. From the surrounding areas the most impressive is the Pirin Mountain itself. The greater part of the tourist flow heading for the mountain goes through the town. 6 km south of Bansko is the village of Dobrinishte. This is one of the largest villages in the country. There are situated 17 mineral springs, as well as big mineral public bath.
